Wireless technology for energy-efficient transmission over long distances

LoRa (Long Range) is a modulation technology patented by Semtech that is based on chirp spread spectrum. It enables energy-efficient data transmission over distances typically ranging from 2 to 15 km (and significantly farther in open terrain). LoRa operates in the sub-GHz range on unlicensed ISM bands. MeshCore uses LoRa as its physical layer.
