What is the Antenna Coverage Tool?
It is a feature in the app that allows you to visually represent the potential range or coverage of a wireless node or antenna using graphics or maps. For example, you can define a location, set parameters such as antenna height or transmission power, and see how far the coverage could theoretically extend.
How do you use the tool?
In the app, the “Kebap menu” with the three dots is located in the top-right corner. There, under “Tools,” you’ll find the “Antenna Coverage Tool.”
Tap on the map here to specify your location. The theoretical radio coverage is then generated. Using the graphical display, you can check whether your location is suitable—for example, whether a spot on a hill provides good coverage or whether obstacles (buildings, forests) might interfere with coverage.
If you now place a second point on the map—for example, where the target repeater should be located—you can determine whether both nodes are within range or whether it’s worth setting up another repeater at a location between them.
However, the tool does not replace traditional radio range testing and only displays the theoretical range, not the actual range.
